Fusel oil separation technology

  1. Technology Introduction

At present, most domestic methanol plants use coal as raw material and use coal gasification to produce methanol. The methanol synthesis process is to compress the fresh raw gas from low-temperature methanol washing and conduct a catalytic reaction in the methanol synthesis tower to generate crude methanol products, which are refined. The distillation yields qualified refined alcohol, and a small amount of fusel oil is mostly sold directly into fusel oil tanks and is not fully utilized. Through our company’s technological transformation, fusel oil can be fully utilized and can produce good social and economic benefits.

The general treatment methods of domestic coal chemical fusel oil are intermittent evaporation recovery of fusel oil and continuous distillation recovery of fusel oil. The former is an intermittent operation, and the scale of fusel oil treatment is limited; the latter is to recover methanol by setting up a methanol recovery tower and simultaneously prepare a concentrated fraction of C2-C6 alcohol. The disadvantage is that the refined methanol still contains many impurities. Generally it can only be used as a low-grade product.

In response to the above problems, our company relies on many years of experience in chemical separation customization and adopts a coupling method of pressurized distillation and atmospheric distillation. Not only can high-purity refined methanol that meets the national standard for high-quality products be obtained at the top of the distillation tower, but also often The pressure distillation tower uses the material at the top of the pressure distillation tower as the heat source, which greatly improves the energy utilization rate. More importantly, our company’s supporting fusel oil wastewater treatment process uses a two-step advanced oxidation method combined with a composite membrane bio-reactor (MBR) to meet the requirements of the “Petrochemical Industry Pollutants The direct emission standards and circulating water reuse standards of “Emission Standard” GB31571-2015 solve customers’ worries.
